PaperVault Privacy Policy

Effective 14 September 2026

The short version: PaperVault does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server. Everything the app does happens on your device.

What the app processes

PaperVault works with documents and their extracted text. PDFs you import are copied into the app's own storage, text is extracted on-device with PDFKit and Vision, and indexed locally. Nothing is transmitted anywhere.

Device permissions

The app asks for access to the camera (for scanning) and the files you choose to import. These permissions are used solely to provide the app's core feature on your device. You can revoke them at any time in Settings, and the app will explain what stops working.

Data we collect

None. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, device identifiers, or any personal information. The app makes no network requests for your content.

Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Purchase status is checked on-device through StoreKit. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.

Where your data lives

All content stays in the app's private storage on your device and is included in your normal iCloud or iTunes device backup according to your own backup settings. Deleting the app deletes its data.

Children

PaperVault does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13, because it collects no information at all.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Because the app has no server, we cannot notify you in-app; check this page if you are concerned.
